Michelangelo Perghem Gelmi reveals a constant commitment to his work. He is able to grasp and convey the most important aspects of reality to the viewers, establishing with them an honest relationship based on sincerity, in order to find a remedy to the everyday anxieties that are always menacing the human search for balance. In Perghem Gelmi’s paintings you can detect with extreme clarity his excellent technique both in his use of colour and his sense of perspective through his drawings. His mastery of colour derives both from his great natural inclination and his evident technical training, which enables him to create images that strike the viewers for their completeness and clarity, thanks to three-dimensional chiaroscuro effects which conjure up real spaces. His compositions show a meticulous care for detail, which involves not only the main subjects but the whole process of creation. For his choice of subjects, his use of colour and his careful trait, his body of works as a whole comes through as an impartial transcription of his feelings. His intention is not to influence the viewers, but to give them the chance of taking a different insight on reality.
